How I Began My Search
One of the stories I often tell people is how I got started. I was going through books on North Carolina in the St. Louis library (libraries are always a possible resource). I pulled down a book on cemeteries of Hyde County. I knew some names from my Grandmother - and sure enough - they were in that book! And in linking to other gravestones, I had over 50 new relatives before I left the library. I wanted to let out a shout! It's so incredibly exciting to find your ancestors.
My Family Tree
This is just one of my great great grandfathers and his ancestors, going out three generations. The green circles on the upper right of the rectangles indicate a new "hint", and the arrows on the right hand side indicate that there are more ancestors in this tree. In fact, this arm of my tree goes back well into the early 1700s.
